Welcome to this blog that aims to aid those who desperately seek for solutions to the Cobra alarms installed in their vehicles.

I will try over this blog to provide tips on how to tune your alarm, change the cell's command and how you can check out the different types of false alarm that so often make us wear slippers, wear the robe interrupting whatever it was we were to do (it's annoying when we are in quite good) and of course we can not forget the names that our neighbors call us there are many times that the bastard car remember to start screaming for help.

The most persistent down there until the street turn off the alarm, wait a few minutes, well, sometimes even feel like smoking a cigarette, turn it on again, more a walk, everything looks good and until the next call.

The worst is when we do not have patience for this, and do not even smoke, let the damn car, endorse the names of the neighbors previously uttered, turn off the alarm said leaving the car we like so much at the mercy of vultures that increasingly plague the night in search of a radio (less common these days), navigation system or anything else that we in the habit inside the vehicle.

It was to protect those things that we decided to install the alarm was not, and I know that the reason was not always this, often the decision was taken because the car had no remote and when it rains really is not comfortable, and was me to forget the power windows, walk always in a hurry and many are the times that we turn off the ignition, we get the
key and when we look, the jar was open, because he did not guess we'll go right?

Of course, at the time of writing this blog about alarms is fashionable to carjacking and why the pursuit of greater security at the expense of comfort came to weigh on the decisions.
But on the subject carjacking and the changes that alarms and alarms specifically snake had to suffer another post so we'll bring you more information.

Another concern of most owners of alarms is charged battery replacement and subsequent reset command.

Most people to verify that the command does not work from a distance usually quick to seek to replace the battery, usually for a watchmaker, the closest readily measured its voltage and replace it, the problem coming, what was usually a problem of distance drive became a total lack of drive, right?

I can not forget the snake control boxes (plastic casing) that is damaged and that usually insist on keeping in poor condition until it crashes, you know that only cost about five dollars and a new command alarm charges are forty because it could have saved some money.

I think these are the most common problems for all users of these alarms and that in future posts will not expand so that these issues are no longer problem.
Feel free to leave comments on any issue that wish clarified, more technical topics such as specific schemes will also be discussed.

Thank you for visiting this blog about snake alarms.

Good afternoon,

In that area of the country is it?

Henry says in June 6th 2009 at 9:48 pm

Lisbon Area, but if there is online, can also be ...

admin June 7th 2009 at 10:18 pm

Online, only if it is on Ebay.
In Lisbon, any company that installs alarms can give you the commands.
I could send you by mail, but I think with shipping and all that would be expensive.
Do a search, appears often in advertising fitters.

Henry says in June 8th 2009 at 10:08 am

Thank you, I'll try one then try installing company, because on ebay, only found in England, and only sell to the UK.

Again, thank you.

Recently purchased a used car and even had an alarm snake (do not know the model). I found a rectangular black box with the symbol of the snake and alarms do not know what it is. It has 7 contacts but only some have chips q is connected. In front is a silver sticker saying Art 1980 and the back of a white sticker saying 4M1980STA. I help to tell me that this piece is and what is the pinout of the contacts. I turned it off a sheet and I got was an electric glass crashing. It will be a module for the closing of the windows when the alarm is triggered?
Thanks

admin July 3rd 2009 at 2:28 pm

Cobra 1980 module has the function of closing the windows when the alarm triggers.

admin July 9th 2009 at 7:47 pm

Are you sure the model is a 4100?

In Portugal only be sold (I know) models 4808 and 4908, and these types of alarms are CanBus and therefore need to be programmed to the vehicle that will be installed.
It commands?

Or is the model that has is the image

Oliveira says in July 10th 2009 at 11:37 am

Good. The model is 4190. It has two commands and the PIN code along with all the material. He was already installed on my old car was a fiat punto, but now need to put it on the seat ibiza the recently acquired.

Oliveira says in July 10th 2009 at 11:41 am

Yes, this is it. At least the controls are the same. There will be a scheme momtagem? It already ran several auto electricians and nobody has.

admin July 10th 2009 at 8:57 pm

The model states that alarm has not been marketed in Portugal, I think the equivalent is the 3100 Globe series, make sure that this arrangement is valid.
I have an alarm but this scheme is in Russian :) , The translation I did seems to me like the model of the Cobra 3198.

I have installed a BMW 320, 2006 Cobra 4908 alarm, and began to encounter the following situation:
When I shut the car with the control (BMW) sometimes he spent a few beeps 5 seconds, not as if the alarm goes off it gives me the idea that it is due to Aluma or glass door has been opened, but not the car is completely closed, even though I re-open and close all doors the situation remains. The only way I found to resolve the situation was to keep the (command) to close the car by pressing for a few brief seconds.

Good! Can someone tell me where I can buy two new control boxes 7777 (plastic casing) preferably in the city of Porto and the surrounding area? No more my thanks.

admin July 31st 2009 at 7:33 pm

Any Cobra alarm installer can provide you with the control boxes to replace the old, the price is around 5 to 6 euros, I think.
I know a company in the city of Porto called autostereo do not know if they work with alarms snake.

I have a Nissan Patrol, equipped with an alarm siren whose origin is: Delta Elettronica / 4S5380A1B, which no longer manufactures.
As is unrecoverable needed replacing. I think the Cobra will siren adaptable.
I appreciate if I can confirm the possibility and what model.

Thanks in advance.

admin August 10th 2009 at 7:35 pm

I know that siren and so I find it hard to help you.
I advise you to go through an installer to ascertain at what type of siren that can be used.

Hello good days

Had a Nissan Sunny alarm cobra-series Globe 3100, withdrew because of that they sent me the car for scrap. I wanted to install a Nissan Almera but to avenge the driver's door I noticed that it would not need the gun that was necessary in another car to close the doors.
I do not know which wire the doors closing (I have the layout of the central locking alarm that tells me several options) just do not know where the car turn.

Thanks in advance

He did not mention the year of the Nissan Almera, if the model with source control should be an alarm Cobra model 3868 or G368 to work with its original remote, but perhaps you can get around that.

I confirm this situation.

Pedro Esteves says in September 11th 2009 at 10:12 am

I thank attention

Nissan Almera 2001 and has integrated into a command

As I said earlier in this vehicle should be an alarm model 3868, but check what kind of command central locking, if it is negative just connect the orange / white and purple / white pasta, orange wire connects to open while the purple wire connects to the closing, if positive is to connect the two wires with white stripe to a positive (+30), the gray / black and yellow / black do not care in this setting.

I believe that corresponds to schemes E and D in the manual.

Hope that helps

Pedro Esteves says in September 12th 2009 at 9:38 pm

Again thank
But I do not know is that the wires connecting the car (a cable with 3 wires coming from the gun lock that has no current) the course already deduced that it was a central locking negative or positive

anyway thank

Make sure that the right door also closes all others.

Pedro Esteves says in September 13th 2009 at 9:32 pm

Not only is the driver's door that opens and closes the door including luggage

admin September 13th 2009 at 9:48 pm

In this case you can not use any of the schemes that I mentioned has to use a pistol as he had in another car and then the schema reverse polarity in order to make a "bypass" the original module locking elements.

Antonio Coelho says in September 19th 2009 at 7:57 pm

I need help.
I have a Nissan Almera that has an alarm that came factory installed.
The commands are Delta Elettronica and the model 7726.
As the buttons are damaged need to replace them. Does anyone know where I can get replacements for the brand has already informed me that no longer provide this model?
Grateful for possible help.

Check the bonnet switch is the most likely.
Raise the hood, look for the switch and press with your finger (or disconnect the power cord), then turn on the alarm and make sure that this happens whistle.
When you turn off the alarm LED continues to flicker?
